What we do

From a single rooftop disconnect to a full manufacturing fit-out.

Commercial electrical is rarely one scope. Most projects bundle service-entrance work, distribution gear, equipment power, and tenant fit-out lighting compliance under one schedule. Monte Power & Electric runs all of it from one shop, with the same crew on the panel, the transformer, and the equipment disconnect.

Property managers, general contractors, restaurant and retail operators, manufacturing customers, biotech and medical device companies, and tech tenants in San Jose, Santa Clara, Mountain View, Milpitas, and across the South Bay. Coordination with PG&E for service-entrance work, with the AHJ for permits and inspection, and with the building shell trades for sequencing.

  • 200-1,600AService-entrance sizing range.
  • 15-500 kVADry-type transformer range.
  • $2MGeneral liability coverage on every job.

Commercial scope

Four core scopes,
often bundled together.

Most commercial fit-outs touch all four of these. Walk us through the project and we'll spec the bundle that fits.

01

Transformer install

15-500 kVA dry-type

480V to 208V or 208V to 120V step-down transformers, K-rated for non-linear loads, isolation transformers for sensitive equipment, and PG&E pad-mount coordination. NEC 450 compliance, primary and secondary overcurrent protection, grounding handled.

  • Dry-type 15 kVA to 500 kVA
  • K-13 / K-20 for harmonics
  • Isolation for sensitive loads
  • PG&E pad-mount coordination
02

A/C & equipment disconnects

In-sight motor disconnects

Rooftop HVAC disconnects, equipment disconnects within sight per NEC 430, refrigeration disconnects, walk-in cooler power, and dedicated motor circuits sized to nameplate full-load amps with proper overcurrent protection.

  • Rooftop HVAC disconnects
  • Walk-in cooler power
  • Process equipment disconnects
  • NEC 430 motor compliance
03

Equipment power & distribution

Process & manufacturing

Distribution panels for process equipment, machine-shop floor power, manufacturing line power, conveyor and pump motor circuits, VFDs and motor control panels, and PLC and BAS integration.

How a commercial project goes

Five steps from
scope to closeout.

Same disciplined sequence whether the project is a single rooftop disconnect or a full manufacturing fit-out.

  1. 01

    Scope

On-site walk with mechanical and equipment specs in hand. Load schedule reviewed, site photos, and AHJ rules confirmed.

  2. 02

    Quote

Itemized quote line by line: service entrance, transformer, distribution, equipment, lighting, permit, PG&E coordination.

  3. 03

    Permit & PG&E

Electrical permit pulled. PG&E coordination runs in parallel for service-entrance work. Switchgear ordered with confirmed lead times.

  4. 04

    Install

Coordinated install with mechanical and equipment trades. Phased build where the schedule allows production and tenant access continuity.

  5. 05

    Commission & close

Final AHJ inspection, Title 24 acceptance testing where it applies, as-built drawings delivered. Closeout package on file.
